Half time refreshments (thanks to Mandy & Val) were followed by the coaches impressing on the team the need to bowl straight, to pitch the ball up and to be backed by total concentration and commitment in the field.  

Ali Rashid set the tone with a fine run out with Rohan Brown showing good early season form behind the stumps. Good bowling from Alex Mackay, Luke Middlemiss, Luke Donaldson backed up with top feilding from Ross Sadler and Laura May saw Redcar restricted to 50-5 in reply.

A good start to the season – several points to learn and improve on over the coming weeks but congratulations for a very good TEAM performance.

Special mention to Squad members Fiona Weatherhead and Dan Tansley who came to support and finally a big THANK YOU to all the parents and GCC supporters for the encouragement and support that you gave to the children -though I cannot guarantee (warm) sunshine every Sunday morning !!

It has been decided that Juniors will not be able  to pay their coaching fee weekly this season.   All juniors will pay a flat coaching fee of £25 + £15 membership for the season; this to be paid no later than 3^rd week i.e. 2nd May.  Anyone starting after 1 July will pay £12.50 + £7.50 membership.  Match fee  will  stay at £1.

GCC 1st XI Macmillan Cup Winners 2011

This  funding will allow 2 groups at each school to receive  10 hours  of mostly curriculum time cricket coaching over 10 weeks  each year. The scheme will introduce more children to cricket & hopefully find new junior players for our club as well as bringing in much needed funds.

In the first couple of months the coaching will be done on our behalf by Bob Hodge & Craig Lidster. After that, it is planned that our Overseas Pro will join them in delivering the programme.
