Mission Statement

To provide cricket for the people of Guisborough and district, of all ages, abilities and sexes.

Aims

  • Harness and develop all young cricketers so they have the opportunity to contribute to the game of cricket at all levels and play a central role in club cricket life
    Continue to deliver a structured and professional approach to cricket development in Guisborough . Continue to nominate suitable talented Junior players ( at least 6 per year) to Cleveland County, Yorks County and North of England teams. Continue to support YCB Pathways/Academy by nominating 6 to CJSA sessions .

  • Develop and strengthen a structure and pathway for women and girls to actively participate in and follow cricket
    We already have 7 girls playing U-11 cricket and plan to start a junior girls team as soon as time permits and look towards establishing a Womens Cricket Section in the near future

  • Develop and strengthen the whole club environment, promoting cricketing opportunities for disabled people
    Support YCB inititiatives via County Development Officer

  • Develop and promote cricket for black and ethnic minorities
    Make it clear in Club publicity that everyone is welcome. At least 1 coach has attended an "Equality in your coaching" course

  • Ensure that our cricket club is an integral part of the local community, contributing an invaluable service to all sections of the local community, developing club members, supporters and volunteers
    Publicise what club offers and achieves by provision of suitable articles to Evening Gazette, Northern Echo & free press throughout season. Continue to work with local schools to encourage participation in club coaching and match activity. Take part in Chance to Shine scheme witgh local schools Encourage use of Club premises by outside groups.

  • Develop and strengthen senior playing teams, providing positive role models to all club members, leading achievement and success
    Employ Professional whose duties include coaching of both senior and junior players . First XI to finish in top 3 of NYSD Premier League & win at least one League cup competition. Strengthen pathway and integration of juniors into senior teams.

How will we get there?
Utilise newly qualified UKCC1 coaches from Courses being run Oct/Nov 2010 Work with TVCDG to arrange Cricket Festivals for U-9's. As yet there is no League for U9 players. The TVCDG feels it is better for this age group to have a number of 1 day Festivals open to as many oplayers as possible from paerticipating clubs

Put up 2 bay hard practice netting facility 2011 - seek funding from YCB/ECB Relay square in Sept 2011 or 2012 - using clubs own targeted fund raising. Start junior girls team if numbers permit 2012 Medium term aim to establish 4th senior team either midweek or in Cleveland League on 2nd pitch Medium term aim for Womens cricket section by 2013/2014 Debate whether to have long term aim of indoor net facility on our ground
